Late Happy New Year!

1月 7, 2007

I have been very busy for my work.
I took over my sempai’s work last October and since then I have been working so hard as I wake up at 5 am, get on the train at six, start working at seven, leave office around 10:30pm, get home at 12:30am, and finally go to sleep around 1am….

What makes me relax during these stressful times?
Doing flower arrangements, Cha-do, and talking with a person whom I like.

As I told you before on this blog, I am taking a flower arrangement class in my office building, so I can attend the class taking a break from my work for an hour and go back to work after that.

This is my work at the last class of 2006.
It is a special flower for the New Year.

The flowers and tree branches used for this have special meanings in Japanese culture.

(I am going to put some more about it later, since I am very tired now.)

As for Cha-do class, I have been absent recenlty due to my work, but I am going to attend “Hatsu-Gama-Shiki,” the first Tea ceremony in the year, next Sunday.

There are a lot of energetic and wonderful ladies aged between 20 and almost 70.  I love meeting and talking with them because they inspires me a lot. They are interested in some other traditional cultures like Kabuki and Rakugo, but also Going to the theater and see drama and movies and they are fashion-conscious.

My Ikebana Work #6

I finished learning al the styles of Moribana, so I work on a free style today.
I like Sandersonia most in the flowers used for today’s work.  I wanna be as “charming” as Sandersonia!!

Jasmine (leaves)
It was hard for me to find out that those leaves are Jasmine, since there were no flowers this time.
*Floral Language;  (YELLOW) – Modesty, Grace, Elegance  (WHITE) – Amiability
